Baking Jom Comment 4.0

Yes, we've heard you and we are currently working hard on Jom Comment 4.0 . There will be drastic changes since Jom Comment 3.0.1 and one that you should take note of is that it will no longer support Joomla 1.0 since it is already deprecated. Other than that, threaded comments will be made possible and of course, pagination.

Trackbacks and comments are now treated as a 'response' towards an article instead of separating them. There is no release date scheduled yet currently. Window popups are enhanced and will look much more interactive than the existing popups. Caching from Jom Comment will now be removed and it will solely rely on Joomla's caching mechanism. Language files will also be changed in accordance to Joomla's language format so that multi lingual will work correctly without applying any hacks.

JomSocial integration will be enhanced and will include user points when a user interacts with the system.

Let us know what you think with the new changes being added in Jom Comment 4.0 =) More to come soon.....

Is this 2.5 year-old post the only mention of JomComment 4 on your site? I couldn't find any others. Can we assume the lack of updates means this is no longer being worked on?

Hi Jano, Alex and Paul, unfortunately, there are no plans to have this made compatible with the latest Joomla.

Yes, I'd really like to see this in J1.7

Hi, jomcomment appears to 'hang' on our site when someone post. There is a little icon that appears and it just circles forever.

Just wanted to test if this happens on this site as well...

Hi

I have been using JomComment for a number of months now, and it works great.

Just two points:

- would it be possible to have support for youtube as an embedded tag in comments
- is there a way to have some comments auto-approved? Maybe based on the users authority?

Can't wait for JomComment 4.0. Been loving 3.0. Any chance you could also write an extension to make it compatible with JoomSEF? Right now, pagination doesn't work when using JoomSEF. Thank you!

Sweet, when will we see the next version of myblog? Would love to give my users the ability to chose or upload their own header.

Hope it will have MVC templating and integration of the favorite system in jomsocial.
Favorited articles are a strong point in JC, it would be good if we could have the favorited list in Jomsocial menu instead of a regular link in user menu

Thats good news,
Thanks for keeping us updated, hope you keep up that whay
