My Blog 2.0 & Jom Comment 3.0 =)

After a long wait, we finally released the beta versions of both My Blog 2.0 and Jom Comment 3.0 . You can actually access both these release in the following forums,

* You will have to be a valid user that owns a license to be in the beta users lists. If you are a license owner and if you are not registered yet in our forums, just register yourself and send a private message to 'Mark' or 'azrul' with the 'Beta tester request' as the title.
I bet that many of you are wondering what changes are there in both these releases. While I can list some of the changes, I can't really list them all as there are too many to remember and I have a pretty bad memory. ;( Anyway, here are some of the changes in both these new versions
Jom Comment 3.0
- Multi lingual support (Quite a popular one ;] )
- New comment templates (The new template is really sweet)
- Importing utilities from MXComments (Doesn't support special encoded characters yet)
- Reduced server loads by minimizing the scripts that is loaded.
- Recaptcha support
.... and many more
My Blog 2.0
- New intuitive dashboard design (Glossy look yeaha!!)
- Meta options are now added in the dashboard
- Tag slugs (Customize what you want the URL to look like for tags)
- Trackbacks support.
- Email notification when user creates a new blog!
.... and many more

hi mark, i think Pembaris was refering to "Coming Soon - Our latest and unreleased extension for Joomla! Stay informed." Does this release fix the problem with tags encoding issues in latin characters? I cant still give permission to my users to create tags and i cant make tags like: pão, mãe, início, etc because of the encoding gets screwd up wen saving in db. Great work though, i am very glad azrul team is actively developing and not just bug fixing. |

Hi Ruigato, Yes, the upcoming release will solve the 'special encoded characters' in the tags issue by introducing the 'Tag Slug' option. As an administrator, you can now specify the alternative tag name which will be used in the SEF URLs and the links will work fine.  |

Hello Mark, Will the next version of MyBlog support external image galleries like Flickr or Picasa? Since almost all my pictures are hosted on Flickr, and it takes a long time sorting things out manually... It would be nice if you could provide something like the Azrul Video plugin for Flickr and/or Picassa. Greetings, Michael. |

Oops, from the first Mark's reply I thought the quote feature was implemented  Any chance for the final release? And most of all....these features are a must-have IMHO: - integration with JCE/other editor mambots - integration with galleries (datso, gallery2, zoom...) so users can add pics from their own galleries. The ajax saving funcion in current version breaks encoding after save. Note: please activate folowups in the comments here. |
