A new 1.7.5 update has just been released. This is an important security update that help you fight trackback spam issues. Jom Comment's blocked keywords list will now be used to filter out trackback spam. Jom Comment will also monitor and block trackback spam from flooding your site. If trackback is disabled, all incoming trackback will be blocked. Please head to the download section and download this latest release. There are also numerous bug fix and XHTMLSuite compatibility fix.

422: Limit comment feed to just 20 latest comment

Comment feed are limited to just 20 latest comment. It doesn't make sense to show everything as RSS are only meant to show summaries..

346: Optimise javascript include. DO NOT add them in non selected content section.

JavaScript will not be added on section that doesn't use Jom Comment. However, it will still show in other components. This will be optimized later.

514: Put word blocking in trackback

Trackback will check the title, excerpt, and url for blocked words and reject them.

320: Content title encoding for RSS feed is incorrect

The content title will be converted to UTF-8. However, your server need to have multi-byte extension support for this to work correctly.

335: Strip_tags is missing

Add code to strip all HTML tag. This code was missing in the 1.7 series and can cause redirect meta data to redirect current page to some other page. It will also allow admin to enter the back end and delete the old offending content.

338: Admin email publish/unpublish/delete are all "publish" link

User should be able to publish/unpublish/delete comment from the email notification without error.

513: Put trackback flood control

Trackback ping are now limited to 1 every 30 minutes. It will reject trackback ping if there is too many of them. This should keep trackback spam in check.
